Visa and Insurance 

 

 

Visa rules 

 

The participants are responsible for obtaining necessary documents for entrance to 

Norway. We may give advices, but all contact with the embassies is your 

responsibility. 

 

Norway has agreement with several countries about visa requirements. 

Check “Useful links” on the front-page menu if you need visa or not. 

 

You must check with your closest Norwegian embassy, Consulate or Embassy handling 

visa applications for Norway. You may have to arrange an appointment long time before 

actual travel date. THIS IS IMPORTANT! 

 

Visa application documents can be downloaded from the web-site “Useful links”. 

Normal processing time for visa at the regional Foreign Service Mission is about 2 weeks 

but some countries need much longer time! 

 

 

You will need following documents: 

1. Valid passport 

2. Application for Schengen visa 

3. Valid travel insurance covering at least 30 000 Euro. 

4. Invitation letter. Issued by Handicamp Norway. 

5. Guarantee document. Issued by Handicamp Norway. 

 

Insurance 

 

Participants coming from outside Schengen should have personal travel insurance. If you 

need visa this is compulsory. 

 

Participants from within Schengen shall bring EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). 

This will give you free medical treatment in Norway similar to a Norwegian citizen. This 

is obtained free in your country, Check web-site. 

 

We strongly recommend that all participants have their personal insurance in addition to 

the EHIC.
